Weather and Logistics:  Workshop participants should plan for indoor locations to be well air-conditioned, and have light layers available.  Comfortable shoes and a personal water bottle will be useful to have during location tours throughout the week.  While participants will be shuttled to various historic sites around the city throughout the week, there will still be a certain amount of walking to adjacent locations.  South Carolina is warm in the summer, with an average high of 91°F and an average low of 68°F.

Library Support and Technology:  Participants are strongly encouraged to travel with their own laptop computers. Workshop participants will have access to university wireless while on-site at the George, and will be provided complimentary login credentials that will also allow access to the Upstate Library databases during the week. A small number of university-owned laptops will be available for use by workshop participants; accepted participants will be contacted prior to the workshop date to confirm any needs for borrowed technology.
