PROGRAMS, PROSPECTS & PATHWAYS Earn Clinical Hours Volunteering with Educational Enrichment Program SoE students are invited to help with the Charles Lea College of Educational Enrichment and receive clinical/observation hours for that service. This program is offered each semester for Upstate adults with disabilities who would like to take classes at USC Upstate. Classes began on Wednesday, September 17, and will continue this semester on the following dates: October 15, 22, 29, November 5, 12, 19 and December 3. These classes are held from 6:30-8:15 p.m. in the Health and Education Complex (HEC) building. Classes offered this semester are: • Reading • Sign Language • Consumer Math • Zumba • Music • Art Charles Lea students celebrate following completion of classes in the USC Upstate ‘College of Educational Enrichment’ program.      • Crafts • Computer • Science If you are interested in participating in this service opportunity and earning clinical/observation hours, you can sign up for the dates you can serve. New Program Approved We are excited to announce that a new Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sport Science has been approved for the fall of 2014! The new curriculum creates three new academic tracks: • Exercise Science • Medical Fitness • Strength and Conditioning These tracks will provide students with an opportunity to receive more advanced coursework in their specialty. The new Health Science emphasis, which can be substituted for the required minor, will allow students to complete the prerequisites for entry into either Physical Therapy or Physician Assistant graduate programs. Visit the USC Upstate Physical Education website for more information, including the degree sheet and career information. TEACh – Spartanburg Campus TEACh stands for Teachers Educating All Children. It is a campus organization that brings together education majors and anyone who has a love for educating children. During the course of each semester, speakers are invited to share different aspects in the education world, as well as how to help children in general. The next meetings are scheduled for October 30, November 20, and December 2 at 6 p.m. in HEC 2002.
