The University of South Carolina Upstate Green-ville Campus is part of a consortium of higher edu-cation institutions known as the University Center of Greenville and is dedicated to increasing access to educational opportunities for Upstate citizens. The USC Upstate Greenville Campus is located in the McAllister Square Mall and at 501 River Street in Downtown Greenville for commuting junior and senior level students and enrolls nearly 1,000 stu-dents each year. Students who already have an asso-ciate’s degree or who are taking junior or senior-level courses, attend USC Upstate Greenville Campus to earn bachelor’s degrees. The University Center Greenville (UCG) was estab-lished to help the Greenville community maintain a competitive edge educationally, as it is one of the largest cities in the Southeast without its own public university. UCG was chartered to bring undergradu-ate and graduate degrees from some of South Caro-lina’s top universities including Clemson University, Furman University, Greenville Technical College, Lander University, South Carolina State Univer-sity, University of South Carolina and University of South Carolina Upstate.
