Women’s Soccer The women’s soccer team plays its home games at County University Soccer Stadium, one of four facilities at the Louis P. Howell Athletic Complex across the street from the HEC. Rachel Baylor became the first Spartan women’s soccer player in program history last season to be named the ASUN Scholar-Athlete of the Year, while Kate Winegarner was a unanimous selection to the All-Freshman Team. The team will play a total of nine home games this season. Softball The softball team plays its home games at Cyrill Softball Stadium, one of four facilities at the Louis P. Howell Athletic Complex across the street from the HEC. The Spartans made their fourth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament last season, competing in the Auburn, Ala. Regional. The program has won five ASUN championships in the last four seasons, including two regular season titles (2014, 2015) and three tournament crowns (2013, 2015, 2016). Men’s Tennis The men’s tennis team plays its home games at the USC Upstate Tennis Complex, one of four facilities at the Louis P. Howell Athletic Complex across the street from the HEC. The team earned its fifth straight trip to the ASUN Tournament last season and, for the first time in program history, competed in the tournament championship game. The team returns two ASUN All-Freshman Team performers from last year in Ankush Arora, also a Second Team All-Conference selection in doubles, and Lenhard Haupt. Women’s Tennis The women’s tennis team plays its home games at the USC Upstate Tennis Complex, one of four facilities at the Louis P. Howell Athletic Complex across the street from the HEC. The team battled for a spot in the ASUN Tournament until the final weekend of the season last year. The Spartans return six underclass women from last season to lead the team in 2016-17. Men’s Track & Field The men’s track & field team practices on campus and at local high schools in preparation for its indoor and outdoor seasons. The team earned eight ASUN All-Conference accolades last season including five during the ASUN Outdoor Track & Field Championships to highlight the year. 124
